The owners of a liquor store in Lowell, MA wanted us to help them transform their bare 3,500 sq ft concrete slab into a nice cost effective finished floor. They were not satisfied with the vinyl flooring in their other establishments and wanted something with lower maintenance cost that also had a clean professional look to it. They were concerned that a polished concrete floor would be too slippery for the customers. Polished concrete floors may look as smooth as glass, but they are completely safe to walk on when kept clean and dry. What’s more, they tend to be less slippery than waxed linoleum or polished marble. After addressing their concerns and showing the owners samples of polished slabs for their approval we began the project.

The project was to be done in two phases, because of all the various construction the owners did not want all of the trades to come in after we had finished the floor. What we decided to do was to complete the first stages of grinding and put down a densifier, then waited for 3 weeks for the refrigeration system to get set up and then come back and finish the floor with polishing steps. The result was a beautiful finished polished concrete floor and the owners were thrilled with the results.
